Shoppers want to pay with the card that they have in their hand. RBS WorldPay can help you keep your shoppers happy, by widening the range of payment methods you can accept.
Which payment methods can I accept via RBS WorldPay?
As some cards issuers use only a limited range of currencies, the cards you can accept for payment through RBS WorldPay are limited by the currencies that you support at your online store.
- MasterCard - Visa(Credit/Debit):
These cards enable processing and settlement of payments in all of the Currencies that RBS WorldPay support. - Visa Purchasing:
Some businesses may pay using a Visa Purchasing card. RBS WorldPay treat Visa Purchasing payments as if they were made with a Visa credit card. RBS WorldPay does not support the 'line item detail' features offered by Visa Purchasing cards - Visa Electron:
RBS WorldPay can process Visa Electron payments only for UK merchants, with payment and settlement in GBP. These transactions are processed as a debit card transaction. - Solo - JCB - Maestro:
RBS WorldPay process and settle payments in GBP only. - PayPal:
RBS WorldPay offer PayPal Express Checkout as an extra payment method for UK Customers Only. - Laser:
RBS WorldPay process and settle payments in EUR only. Laser is issued in the Republic of Ireland. - ELV (Elektronisches Lastschrift Verfahren):
ELV is a non-card payment method used in Germany, and is similar to a direct debit. There is no debit/credit card involved in the payment.
ELV transactions are processed by RBS WorldPay, but at your own risk (so with no fraud prevention from RBS WorldPay). This is because ELV transactions are not authorised via the methods and procedures used to authorise standard credit or debit card transactions. - American Express:
RBS WorldPay process and settle payments in EUR, GBP and USD (other currencies may be available, upon request). However, before we can enable you to accept these cards, you must get an Internet Merchant ID (one ID for each currency) from the card issuer.
American Express may impose various restrictions (depending on your country/region) before they accept your application. - Diners Club:
RBS WorldPay process and settle payments in GBP only. However, before we can enable you to accept these cards, you must get an Internet Merchant ID (one ID for each currency) from the card issuer.
Diners Club may impose various restrictions (depending on your country/region) before they accept your application.
When you set up a payment processing account with RBS WorldPay, we enable payment by all of the payment methods available to you (if these payment methods can use the currencies that your RBS WorldPay account can process). For example, if your RBS WorldPay account can only accept payment in Euros, then we will only enable the payment methods that shoppers could use to pay in Euros.
Note: If you are using our BankDirect service to process payments, then the range of payment methods available to you will vary, as these will depend on the bank providing your merchant account.
